Conference registration fees are at http://iamcr.org/leicester2016/fees.

Your fee includes entrance to all days of the conference, lunch and teas and coffee on each day, a welcome reception on the Wednesday night and your participant pack. Accommodation, the Gala Dinner and pre-conference events are not included.

Yes – an early bird discount is available until 20 May 2016. Registration fees are published at http://iamcr.org/leicester2016/fees

Payment of registration fees can be made by credit card. In certain cases we will accept international bank transfers.

IAMCR and the local organising committee are offering twenty-six grants of up to US$1,500 to early-stage scholars, who are members in good standing of the association, reside in low and middle income countries and have papers accepted for presentation. The grants can be used to offset travel costs and registration fees. See iamcr.org/leicester2016/travel-grants for more information and to apply online.

We have on the day registration available within the Participant Hub on Tuesday and Wednesday. If arriving after Wednesday, there will still be a small desk available for you to register yourself at.

The opening times for the hub, are as follows:

Tuesday: 1pm – 5.30pm

Wednesday to Saturday: 8.30am – 5.30pm

Sunday: 8.30am – 2pm

There will also be a help desk available throughout the event for general queries. Computers will be available for your use – however, you will need to visit the Help desk to get an account to access the computers. Unfortunately, there will be no printing available on site.

The time zone in Leicester in July is British Summer Time (BST) which is one (+1) hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).

The currency of England is GBP Sterling (£). You will find cash machines/ATMs on the University campus and nearby. There is also a branch of Santander bank on campus.

Since 1 July 2007, smoking is not allowed in any enclosed public places in England (this includes pubs, clubs, restaurants, bus stations, shops etc).

Alcohol may be bought by anyone over the age of 18, with proof of identification.

There are certain restrictions on what you may bring into UK aside from your own personal effects. There are regulations concerning pets, livestock, firearms, prescription drugs, plants and meat products. English appliances operate on 230 volts (50Hz). Electrical plugs for 230 volts are three rectangular prongs that form a triangle. If these are different from the ones used in your country, you will need a socket converter/ plug adaptor.

The rate of VAT for goods and services in the UK is 20%. Restaurants generally include VAT in their menu prices.

Participants are advised to provide their own personal travel insurance. The organisers cannot be held responsible for any personal damages or losses.
