Madrid is a large city with an ample range of hotels, hostels and other types of tourist accommodations. It is also a popular tourist destination and for that reason we recommend that accommodation reservations be made early to avoid last minute surprises.
In order to make the conference attendees’ stay as enjoyable as possible, we have selected a number of accommodations which aim to cater for all tastes and budgets.
The accommodations we indicate below have blocked off rooms for the days of the conference, but bear in mind that they are limited; these companies also offer a 15% discount for reservations made 90 days in advance. Use the link given below to go directly to the IAMCR page in the hotel group of your choice.
We have selected two prestigious Spanish hotel groups: Meliá (founded in 1956) and NH (founded in 1978). Both groups offer modern, functional hotels near the city center.
Meliá Hotels International is one of the world’s largest hotel groups and is absolute leader of the Spanish market, both in leisure and in business accommodation. At the present time, it has over 370 hotels in 43 countries on 4 continents. Its trade names include Gran Meliá, Meliá, Paradisus Resorts, ME by Meliá, Innside by Meliá, TRYP by Wyndham, Sol Hotels and Club Meliá.
The NH Hotel Group uses the trade names NH Hotels, NH Collection, Nhow and Hesperia Resorts, and owns some 400 hotels in 30 countries in Europe, America, Asia and Africa.
In both cases, attendees of the IAMCR Madrid 2019 conference are offered accommodations in 3,4, and 5 star hotels, with special rates and discounts.
Please remember: In order to be eligible for these special offers, room reservation and payment must be made via the special page which Meliá and NH Hoteles has opened for conference attendees.
Both groups are firmly committed to environmental protection. Meliá undertakes to “contribute to the preservation of the environment and landscape by minimizing the impact of our activities and promoting awareness of sustainability in all the groups of our interest”. In 2017, the Group won the Global Leaders ESG Award, as leaders in environmental issues and corporate governance. (Europa Press, 26 July, 2017)
Furthermore, Meliá has introduced the Eco Touch program in its hotels in order to make professional events and meetings sustainable. All materials used are zero-plastic and re-cycled: the aim is to reduce CO2 emissions by 40% and between 40% and 60% in electricity and 50% in water consumption.
The NH Group for its part states: “The commitment of our group is to offer sustainable consistent and efficient services to our customers, shareholders, suppliers, employees and society. The company works towards our commitment to integrate responsible management of the Company in economic, social and environmental terms with our will to be the company of reference of our sector in terms of Corporate Responsibility”.
