Yiannis Christidis is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Fine Arts, Cyprus University of Technology. He has studied Cultural Technology and Communication at the University of the Aegean. He holds an MSc in Sound Design from the University of Edinburgh and a PhD in Social Anthropology of Sound from the Cyprus University of Technology.
His research focuses on the cultural aspect of sound, its functionality in everyday life and the relationship between the listeners and their place. He has designed sound and music for audio-visual and radio productions, web applications, and theatrical activities and directed three documentaries. He is the founder of Aura Lab.
His primary motivation to become an IAMCR Faculty Ambassador in Cyprus is to bridge the field of Media and Communication with the Arts and to promote IAMCR and its events in Cyprus.
