Online Conference Papers (OCP) is a space for IAMCR members to present and get feedback on their work and to get certification of their submission of a conference paper and participation in the online conference.
Abstracts were submitted to our 33 thematic sections and working groups for peer review and successful authors were invited to submit papers of 1,000 to 4,000 words.
The more than 1,000 submitted papers were then arranged into panels by the sections and working groups, with each panel being assigned a discussion chair and one or more respondents.
OCP uses a paper and written comments format. Some OCP papers are also included in section and working group video sessions or being discussed in the live interactive forums of participating sections and working groups, but these are separate components of the conference. There are no live presentations within OCP itself.
Only members of IAMCR registered for the conference will have access to Online Conference Papers. Registration is free for IAMCR members.
Beginning on Monday 5 July, the conference website will provide access to the full programme of more than 1,000 Online Conference Papers. Participants will be able to read the papers in the panels of any of the sections and working groups, browse all panels by panel title, or search all papers by author's name, affiliation or title of the paper. Authors are especially encouraged to read the other papers in their own panel.
Beginning 11 July at 12h00 UTC, when the commenting platform opens, panel chairs will encourage written feedback and discussion and respondents will provide feedback to the papers. Each author is expected to comment or raise a question on at least one other paper in their panel.
During the conference the website will provide access to the full programme of Online Conference Papers. Participants will be able to follow the panels of one or more thematic sections and working groups, browse all panels by panel title, or search all papers by author's name, affiliation or title of the paper. The respondent will provide feedback to the panel papers and each author will be expected to provide feedback to at least one other paper in the panel. The panel chair stimulates more feedback and discussion, especially during the first days of the conference.
OCP will use the CCC feedback principle: Comments should be Constructive, Courteous and Critical.
We encourage authors to reach out to colleagues for ongoing exchange and network-building. You can contact authors through the commenting platform or make use of the IAMCR members directory to contact colleagues.
The papers and the discussion platform will remain online for 2 months after the conference, until 11 September.
Chairs and respondents should read this information about the roles and responsibilities of chairs and respondents. Note that all authors are expected to serve as a respondent for at least one paper in their panel.
Participating authors (those who submitted a paper to Online Conference Papers and who comment on at least one other paper) will be issued with a digital certificate of presentation following the conference. Certificates will be issued to all authors, regardless of whether they are members of IAMCR or registered for the conference. Co-authors who are not members of IAMCR, and thus unable to access the OCP papers and comment platform, will receive certificates as long as one co-author of the paper comments on another paper in the panel.
