This panel stems from a publication project developed by the Working Group on Global Media Policy. The presenters are contributors to an upcoming volume titled 'Global Communication Governance at the Crossroads' that will explore current challenges, trends and transformations in global communications and aims at offering visions for its future governance. The presentations in the panel introduce reflections and critical points on the geo-politics of communication governance, actors and processes, human rights and visions, technology and infrastructure and on new ways of knowing and methods. Thus, the panel initiates a conversation around the five thematic sections that compose the book, while opening a space for exchange of scientific and practical knowledges between the authors and the IAMCR membership.
